Town Crier's Last Post

About Me
Greetings from the ancient market town of Axminster, overlooking the beautiful Axe valley in glorious East Devon, home of the world famous Axminster carpet founded by Thomas Whitty in 1755.
Axminster is centred around the historic Minster church of St. Mary the Virgin, which dates back to 786AD and has a weekly market, world famous Axminster Power Tools, River Cottage, a museum, extensive sporting and leisure facilities, quality independent retailers, welcoming Inns and hostelries and a main line Railway station to service to serve our fantastically friendly townsfolk.
I became the first Town Crier of Axminster for over 50 years, since the late Jack Soper.,who passed on in 1951, on March 9th 2007.
I love all that is Axminster and see myself as an ambassador for the town both at home and on my travels
